Day by day Itinerary
Day 01 : Delhi - Arrive Delhi International airport. Meet, assist and
transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon proceed on a half day tour of Old Delhi
including the Red Fort & the Jama Masjid. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 02 : Delhi - Jaipur - In the morning, proceed on a half day tour of
New Delhi, the capital designed by Lutyens and characterised by wide tree-lined
avenues and magnificient colonial buildings. Drive past India Gate, the
President's Palace and visit the Qutub Minar. In the afternoon drive to
Jaipur(5.5 hours drive). On arrival check into your hotel. Rest of the day at
leisure. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 03 : Jaipur - This morning drive to Amber where you will ride on
elephant back to the Fort. En-route you will see the Palace of The Winds(Hawa
Mahal). In the afternoon visit the splendid City Palace and Jantar Mantar - the
astronomical observatory. Overnight in Jaipur.
Day 04 : Agra - Drive to Agra (5 hours drive) via Fatehpur Sikri, the
deserted red sandstone city which Mughal Emperor Akbar built as his capital in
the 16th century and abandoned just 15 years later. On arrival in Agra check
into your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
Day 05 : Agra - In the morning visit the Taj Mahal, the massive Agra
Fort and the tomb of Itmad-ud-daulah. Overnight in Agra.
Day 06 : Delhi - In the morning drive to Delhi(4.5 hours drive). On
arrival check into your hotel. Day at leisure. Overnight in Delhi.
Day 07 : Chennai - Transfer to the airport to board your flight to
Chennai. On arrival Chennai, meet assist and transfer to hotel. This afternoon
you will tour Chennai visiting some of India's oldest British monuments
including Fort St. George and the Garrison Church of St. Mary's, the oldest
Anglican Church in India. Overnight in Chennai.
Day 08 : Chennai - Full day excursion to Kanchipuram and Mahabalipuram.
Visit Kanchipuram, one of the most sacred cities in India. Later proceed to
Mahabalipuram, once capital of the Pallava kings to see the fascinating temples.
Return to Chennai in the evening. Overnight in Chennai.
Day 09 : Thanjavur - In the morning transfer to Chennai airport for your
flight to Tiruchirappalli (Trichy). On arrival, visit the Rock Fort Temple and
St. Joseph's college in Trichy, before driving onward to Thanjavur(2 hours
drive). Arrive Thanjavur and check into your hotel. Overnight in Thanjavur.
Day 10 : Thanjavur - In this Capital of the Chola kings, you will visit
the O'Big Temple'. Outside Tanjore we will travel to the magnificient temple
complexes of Gangaikondacholapuram and Darasuram. Overnight in Thanjavur.
Day 11 : Madurai - In the morning drive to Madurai(4.5 hours drive). On
arrival in Madurai, check into your hotel. In the evening visit the Meenakshi
temple, the Teppakkulam Tank and the ancient Tirumala Nayak Palace. Overnight in
Madurai.
Day 12 : Thekkady - Early morning drive to Thekkady(9.5 hours drive),
through the rice paddies and tea plantations. Arrive Thekkady and check into
your hotel. Overnight in Thekkady.
Day 13 : Thekkady - Today take a boat cruise on Lake Periyar to view the
surrounding wild life. Overnight in Thekkady.
Day 14 : Kumarakom - This morning you will drive to Kumarakom(4.5 hours
drive). On arrival check into your hotel. Overnight in Kumarakom.
Day 15 : Kovalam - Drive to Kovalam(4.5 hours drive). On arrival check
into your hotel. In the evening you will be taken on a half day city tour of
Thiruvananthapuram(Trivandrum) to visit the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Zoological
Gardens and Aquarium. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Kovalam.
Day 16 : Kovalam - Proceed on an excursion to Kanyakumari - lands's end
of India. Visit the Kanyakumari temple, Gandhi Smarak Mandir and Vivekanand's
Rock. Later return to Kovalam. Overnight in Kovalam.
Day 17 : Mumbai - Drive to Trivandrum(1.5 hours drive) to board your
onward connections.
